Drawers Won’t Work Without Drawer Hardware

by guestpost on August 25, 2009

We use drawers every day. They are on our work desks, study tables, cupboards, computer tables, sofa tables, bedroom storage units and our kitchens. Drawers are ideal for storing almost anything from keys and stationery items to clothes, and even cutlery. Drawer hardware includes pulls, handles, stops, back plates, rails, slides glides and brackets. Imagine what would happen if your drawer had no drawer hardware. Pulls enable you to open and close your drawers. Back plates help to fix the pulls and handles firmly to the drawer while enhancing its looks. If you have heavy drawers, rails, slides, glides and rollers help them slide in and out smoothly. In order to stop your kid from pulling a drawer all the way out, you can install a drawer stop.

Cleaning Drawer Pulls

by guestpost on August 10, 2009

Drawer pulls keep coming into contact with hands and sooner are later, dirt accumulates on them.  Cleaning drawer pulls is not difficult but thee are some basic rules to follow. Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface of the pull. Do not use chemical cleaning agents unless the manufacturer’s instructions say they can be used. In some cases chemicals can remove the protective coating from the metal and such damage will not be covered by the guarantee. If dirt has gotten into any of the design feature of the drawer pulls, use a soft brush to remove the grime. Using a hard brush or any pointed object to remove the dirt can leave scratches on the surface.

You’ll need to choose what type of handles the cabinets will have as well as what kind of hinge hardware to use. First things first, where is the cabinet?
