Cabinet Hardware with a Modern Twist

One of the jobs that most home buyers dread when they are building a new home is selecting cabinet hardware. It’s a pretty tedious task, but one that can’t be turned over to someone else to handle. The options are seemingly endless. Between the colors, shapes, materials and finish, it is a job that seems never to come to a close. One way to narrow the field pretty quickly is to make a general decision about whether your cabinet hardware should be old fashioned, traditional or modern. Having that part of the decision made helps the hardware vendor to eliminate dozens of styles from the mix before you start, thereby reducing the options and therefore the confusion about which cabinet hardware to select. Narrowing the search at the outset can make the process a lot less frustrating and time consuming. Because there are so many modern designs for cabinet hardware there will still be plenty to choose from. As you review the various finishes available, you may be able to narrow your search even further by, for instance, eliminating chrome, or brush finishes. Which ever path you take, remember to be patient, it seems like a lot of time now, but you have to live with your choices for a longer time still.
